1:  Power HAD FX CCD Imager

The HXC-100 camera head features 2/3” 1920 x 1080 HD Power HAD FX CCD’s offering a high sensitivity of F10 for 59.94 Hz and F11 for 50 Hz with a signal to noise ratio of 55dB (HD) and 65dB (NTSC)/63dB (PAL).  Capturing modes include;  1080/50i, 1080/59.84i, 720/50P, 720/59.94P, 576/50i and 480/59.94i.  The HXC-100 incorporates a high performance 14-bit A/D converter provides for maximum precision processing.  The newly incorporated Auto Lens Aberration Compensation (ALAC) function can optimize lens performance to provide stunning picture quality.

2:  Digital Triax Operation
The HXC-100 camera utilizes a very high-quality digital triax system which can be integrated into conventional triax-based infrastructures with transmission runs of up to 1200 metres.  The 1.5RU HXCU-100 CCU can be configured with a front panel remote control panel and housed in a standard 19” rack, ideal for flight packs.  The CCU is also controllable from the standard Sony RCP control panels.  Signals provided include; HD-SDI output, SD-SDI output, VF signal, return signal, SDI prompter signal as well as an intercom channel (ENG/PROD).

3:  Robust Design
With it main chassis constructed from a magnesium-alloy casting the HDX-100’s rigid body makes the camera highly durable and protects the lightweight precision integrated optical and electronic components.

4:  Focus Assist Functions
For easier focusing through the viewfinder, two types of focus assist functions are incorporated into the HXC-100 Series: Viewfinder Detail and Focus Assist Indicator.  The “Viewfinder Detail” can add dedicated image-enhancing edge signals directly to the viewfinder to assist in defining the focusing point.  The “Focus Assist Indicator” is a “focus meter”, an indicator displayed at the bottom of the viewfinder frame which enables users to make more accurate and fine focus adjustments.

5:  Multiple Gamma Tables

In order to meet a broad array of customer demands, seven types of standard-gamma and four types of hyper-gamma tables are provided.  These preset gamma settings allow you to quickly adapt to different lighting conditions that may not be controllable.  HyperGamma is a set of new transfer functions designed to provide powerful contrast handling by making maximum use of the capacity and wide dynamic range of the Power HAD FX CCD censor.  These functions are quickly accessed via the set-up menu making it easy for the operator to select one curve from a choice of four that best suits their needs and conditions.

6:  Multi-Matrix

The multi-matrix function of the HXC-100 allows colour adjustments to be applied over the colour range specified by the operator.  The colour spectrum is divided into 16 areas of adjustment, where hue and/or saturation of each area can be modified.  Not only do these colour adjustments provide a greater degree of control over the image but they also allow the HXC-100 to be more easily colour matched to other camera models that me be used in the same production.
